TANZANIA NATIONAL BROADBAND MAP

The Tanzania National Broadband Map comprises a high-speed broadband communication infrastructure that connects all regional and district headquarters across Tanzania. Currently, the network connects all regional headquarters, all districts in Zanzibar and 122 out of 139 district headquarters in Tanzania Mainland. The project is ongoing, with the remaining districts scheduled to be connected by the end of 2026. Furthermore, the infrastructure is interconnected with seven out of eight neighboring countries. The connected countries are Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique, while efforts are underway to establish connectivity with the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition, the national broadband infrastructure is linked to submarine cables landing in Dar es Salaam and to those in Mombasa via the cross-border terrestrial fibre link at the Horohoro border.
